1. Ceramic foundry sand VS Silica Sand
1) Refractoriness of Ceramic foundry sand is higher than silica sand, higher degree of compacting when filling model. Therefore, it can make the surface smooth and get good quality of castings, make lower the rejection rate during production.
2) Liquidity of spherical ceramic sand is very good. For complex shaped castings, at angle, deep sunken place, cross hole and any positions which are difficult to filling, ceramic sand are easy to fill. Thus, sand defects can significantly reduce the workload of cleaning and finishing.
3) Crushing resistance, and high recovery rate, the discharge of wastes is correspondingly reduced.
4) Small thermal expansion rate, good thermal stability, and won't happen expansion to be caused defects in second phase change. It improved the precision of casting much.
5) Although ceramic sand price is much higher than silica sand, but if used properly, comprehensive accounting, not only can obviously improve the quality of castings, but also reduce the production cost.
2. Ceramic Foundry Sand VS Chromite Sand
1) The bulk density is less than the chromite sand, reduce the cost of if use high quality sand.
2) Less binder used as the spherical granule shape of ceramic sand.
3) Crushing resistance is good, improve the recovery rate, better regeneration performance of ceramic sand.
4) The chromium in chromite sand will cause heavy metal pollution. But there is no environment pollution for ceramic sand. So it is conducive to environmental protection.
3. Ceramic Foundry Sand VS Zircon Sand
1) Ceramic sand is spherical, so less binder used than Zircon sand.
2) Zircon sand face the problem of shortage of nature resource. But ceramic sand has rich raw material storage. So its price less than zircon sand.
3) The high damage resistance and recovery rate of ceramic sand make it in good performance on recycle. Both saved the zircon sand and protect the environment. Also it avoids the radioactive damage to people from zircon sand.
